New retail businesses are coming to Elk City.

During the latest meeting of the Elk City Commission, the Commission approved the final plat for “Elk City Strip Center” which, according to City Manager Tom Ivester, will house three to four new businesses at the location on East 7th Street, near Walmart.

One business confirmed to go into the building will be Dollar Tree.

Ivester also said the same company is currently building a new Family Dollar building on West 3rd Street, near Tractor Supply.

Ivester said the city is in talks with other potential retail businesses to occupy the other openings in the strip center building.

No timeline yet as to when Dollar Tree and Family Dollar will open.
