Local Firefighters Respond to Weatherford Wildfire

The Beckham County Task Force, which consists of firefighters from Elk City, Erick, Carter, Canute, and Delhi assisted in battling Tuesday afternoon’s wildfire that originated roughly five miles west of Weatherford says Elk City Fire Chief Kyle Chervenka.

According to the latest report from the Oklahoma Forestry Service, the Route 66 Fire burned 1,485 acres and is considered to only be 20% contained.

There were no reports of any structures being taken by the fire.
