Sleet to Blame For Two Vehicle Greer Co. Collision

Yesterday’s (Tuesday) rain, snow, and sleet were to blame for a two vehicle accident near Granite in Greer County.

According to the accident report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred 6 miles south and 4 miles east of Granite just after 10 a.m. on OK-44 when while driving a 2011 Toyota Camry, a 17-year-old female from Hobart lost control on an icy bridge, crossed the center line and struck the 2010 Chevy pickup driven by 63-year-old Roger D. Hendrix of Altus.

Troopers said the teen was pinned for approximately 1 hour before being freed by crews with the Mangum Fire Department.

The girl was transported to Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus where she was admitted in good condition with arm and leg injuries.

Hendrix was also taken to Jackson County Memorial where he was checked out for minor injuries and later released.
