A semi versus semi accident in Dewey County Monday afternoon proved to be fatal.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident happened just before 2 p.m., 2.6 miles northwest of the town of Oakwood on US-270 when a 2016 International Semi driven by 29-year-old Kordan D. Sandridge of Lewisville, Texas, was traveling north bound while a 1999 Peterbilt Semi driven by 39-year-old Martin Rodriguez-Rojo of Liberal, Kansas was traveling south bound.

Troopers said the Sandridge semi went left of the center for an unknown reason, striking the Peterbilt head on. The Peterbilt then overturned and departed the roadway to the right.

A third vehicle, a 2012 Ford Econoline driven by 50-year-old Zhan Lin of Mooreland, left the roadway to avoid both semis. The drivers of the semis were pinned for approximately 3 hours before being freed by Seiling Fire Department using the Hurst Tool.

OHP said that both drivers of the semis were pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the International Semi, 21-year-old Lexxionne S. Dedner, of Lewisville, Texas, was flown to Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma, City where she was admitted in critical condition with trunk external injuries.

Zhan Lin, and a passenger in his vehicle were not injured.
