Weatheford Man Critical After Custer Co. Accident

A Weatherford man is in critical condition after being involved in a one vehicle accident in Custer County Tuesday night.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred when 64-year-old Kent D. Yount was traveling northbound on East 1050 Road near North 2430 Road two miles south of Weatherford when he swerved out of the lane to avoid a deer in the road.

Troopers said the vehicle departed the roadway to the left and rolled onto its side.

OHP said Yount was not wearing a seatbelt, and was air lifted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted with head, trunk internal, arm and leg injuries.
