The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a fire weather watch for parts of Western Oklahoma tomorrow due to forecasted highs in the mid 70s, high winds, and low humidity.
Elk City Fire Chief Kyle Chervenka says unfortunately due to a dry fall and winter, the area could see an active fire season reminiscent to last year.
Along with the warmer than usual temperatures, meteorologists are calling for sustained south winds blowing anywhere between 20 – 30 mph, and relative humidity as low as 14%.
Counties in a fire weather watch tomorrow from noon to 7p.m. include, among others, Beckham, Custer, and Roger Mills.
