Impressive Snow Totals in Western Oklahoma

The winter storm that hit Oklahoma on Tuesday brought several inches of snow to the Sooner State.

Western Oklahoma appears to have been the “winner” when it comes to snow totals.

According to the National Weather Service out of Norman, Erick received 7”, Reydon 6”, Hammon 5”, Elk City saw 4.2”, Leedey 4”, and Sayre had 3.8” of snow.

The storm forced most, if not all, of local school districts to call off school for the day however classes resumed for the area today.

Looking ahead, a warming trend will continue for the rest of the week with temperatures peaking in the mid 50’s on Saturday before another cold front moves in Saturday night. The next chance of moisture in the area is Monday night with a 20% chance of rain or freezing rain.

Beutler Wins Literary Award
