Beckham County Deputies were involved in an early Monday morning pursuit says Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning.

He said the incident began on Merritt Road just after 3:30a.m. when while attempting to perform a routine traffic stop, the vehicle that was occupied by one individual chose to attempt to elude the deputy. Manning said the short chase ended when the suspect went down a road with a dead end.

Manning said the suspect was arrested on a complaint of driving under the influence with other charges pending.

The name of the suspect has not been released.
