Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) of Cheyenne was in Elk City for the second of his two town hall meetings he held today in western Oklahoma.

He began his town hall meeting tour in Weatherford earlier this morning.

Among the hot button topics the Congressman talked about, he also announced that he plans to rejoin and chair the Agriculture Committee on Capitol Hill and spearhead the latest iteration of the Farm Bill that he says he hopes will pass in January 2023.

Lucas outlined how local ranchers and farmers could benefit from the current and possible updated Farm Bill.

Lucas says any farmer and rancher needing assistance should be proactive by contacting their county’s Farm Service Agency.

Lucas plans to continue his town hall meetings in the region tomorrow (Wednesday) in Altus at Western Oklahoma State College at 9 a.m., then plans to host a meeting in Hobart at Western Technology Center at 11 a.m., and concluding at Hinton’s City Hall at 3 p.m.
