Reports have surfaced this afternoon that another seismic shift is on the way in major college football.
USC and UCLA are reportedly headed east to join the Big 10 conference. SC is the marque program on the west coast in the history of the college football while UCLA offers complete control of the LA market moving forward. This move puts the Big 10 and SEC with 16 members each once these two along with OU and Texas get officially moved to their new destination.
Now the questions begin as to the long term sustainability of the Big 12. Can the conference, that’s had a history of being reactionary instead of progressive in the conference realignment game, poach a couple of teams from the Pac 12 essentially striking the death blow for that conference? Or will it go the other way and the Big 12 will be the victim? Stay tuned because there’s no doubt it’ll be a wild ride.
