Elk City firefighters were dispatched to Homeland early Tuesday morning to battle a small fire.

Fire Chief Kyle Chervenka said the fire was contained in a back storage room.

Chief Chervenka said the damage was contained to the storage room, however food product that was still on pallets may have sustained damage. He added that the main shopping area of the store did not sustain any damage, noting that the fire suppressor system was only set off near the blaze itself.

Chervenka said no injuries were reported and that the store was able to remain open Tuesday for business.
