A Sayre couple have received felony charges after child pornography was allegedly found on their phones.
According to a probable cause affidavit, authorities executed a search warrant on February 23 at a home in Sayre in reference to the investigation into possible possession of the obscene material. There police seized electronic items at the home, including two phones that allegedly belonged to 26-year-old Brittny Ann Netz, and 23-year-old Matthew Kyle Gilbreath. After obtaining a separate search warrant, police searched the phones and found what appeared to be child pornography on both devices.
Police also discovered on the Netz’s phone messages regarding the purchase and delivery of illegal substances to the home.
The court document stated that during the course of the investigation, Netz would confirm to police that she did indeed purchase the illegal narcotics. She also confirmed the images found on the phone were child pornography.
Netz was not arrested at that time, however an outstanding warrant was issued for her arrest last week after being charged with one count of buying, possessing, or procuring obscene material, and one count of unlawful use of communication facility.
Gilbreath was arrested the next day and charged with one count of aggravated possession of child pornography. He was later charged with one count of buying, possessing, or procuring obscene material as well.
Gilbreath is due back in court on April 4.
