Details are limited, but a female suspect was arrested Tuesday morning after leading multiple agencies on a high speed chase throughout Beckham County.

According to information provided by Elk City Police Chief Eddie Holland and Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning, the incident originated in Sayre when a Beckham County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to perform a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle. That vehicle would eventually lead authorities on the high speed pursuit that saw speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour through the streets of Sayre, Interstate 40, and Elk City.

When in Elk City, the vehicle attempted to enter eastbound I-40 via the South Main Street on-ramp, however while on the on-ramp a patrolman with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol successfully performed a TVI move, which disabled the vehicle.

Authorities were able to apprehend and arrest the suspect without incident.

Sheriff Manning said the woman was taken to Great Plains Regional Medical Center for observations. No other vehicles were involved in the wreck, and there were no other injuries.

The name of the suspect, or why she fled has not been released.

Charges are pending.
