A Weatherford man being booked into the Custer County Jail is accused of biting a Sheriff’s Deputy during the process.
Subsequently, the man received a felony charge of assault and battery on a police officer in Custer County District Court earlier this month.
According to a probable cause affidavit, 25-year-old Ty Paden Haight was being booked into the jail on the evening of February 3 when he became belligerent and began to fight a deputy. The affidavit stated that the suspect was stunned with a taser, however it did not help get Haight into compliance. He would then allegedly bite a deputy on the shoulder.
The deputy would later get the wound checked out at a local emergency room.
Haight was formally charged with the felony on February 7. Bond was set at $50,000.
His first court date is scheduled for April 1.
