A two car accident in Dewey County Tuesday afternoon has put a Canton woman in the hospital.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident happened two miles south west of Seiling on U.S. Highway 270 when 25-year-old Asa Little-Bird failed to yield when crossing the highway at a county road intersection. This caused a 2018 Chevy Silverado pickup that was traveling southeast on the highway to strike Little-Bird’s 2010 Ford Expedition on the front center passenger side, causing her vehicle to depart the roadway and come to a rest in the ditch. The driver of the pickup was uninjured, however a passenger in the Expedition, 67-year-old Myra Little-Thunder was taken to a hospital in Seiling and later air lifted to Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was admitted with head, trunk internal, and arm injuries.

Her condition was not listed in the report.

The drivers of both vehicles were uninjured.

Both drivers were listed to be wearing seat belts, however Little-Thunder was not.
