The installation of the synthetic turf at the baseball field in Ackley Park is nearly complete.
According to Elk City City Manager Lee Litterell, the project has seen very little, if any, delays despite recent rain, snow and ice storms. He also noted that the softball and baseball complexes at Ackley Park West are nearly complete as well.
The project which has a just over $5.5 million price tag, is handled by Hellas Construction out of Austin, Texas. Litterell noted that the drainage system installed at both sites will help reduce weather delays or cancellations at the fields.
