Troopers are investigating a crash that claimed the lives of two adults and two children in Custer County.

According to an accident report filed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2014 Hyundai Sonata was eastbound on Interstate 40, west of Clinton, when it gradually left the roadway.

The Sonata hit a concrete drainage ditch and continued over a bridge embankment. Officials say it eventually became airborne and hit a concrete retaining wall.

At that point, the vehicle rolled and came to rest on its top.

Troopers say four of the five people inside the Sonata were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials identified the victims as 27-year-old Aime Tarango, 36-year-old Marleen Moncada, a 7-year-old girl, and a 3-year-old boy.

Authorities say the only survivor is a 16-year-old boy who was rushed to an Oklahoma City hospital. He was last listed to be in stable condition.

In the report, OHP says as to when the accident occurred remains under investigation. OHP says the cause of the crash is under investigation as well.

In other traffic news, a pair from New York were hospitalized Monday night after being involved in a two vehicle accident south of Clinton in Custer County.

OHP says a 42-year-old woman from Jamestown, New York was northbound on U.S. Highway 182, 1 mile south of Clinton, when she pulled to the shoulder and attempted to turn left, back into the highway. A second vehicle driven by 26-year-old Tryston Tyler Liberman would hit the car on the drivers side.

The woman along with a 15-year-old female passenger, also from Jamestown, New York, were transported to OU Medical Center and both admitted with minor injuries. Both were listed to be in stable condition.

Liberman was treated and released at the scene.
