After a one year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Custer and Beckham Counties Relay for Life event is scheduled to return next month.
According to a press release, the event will take place on Friday, April 9th, on the campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
Organizers say teams of people are invited to sign up and participate in the American Cancer Society event which will be outdoors from 6-9 p.m. at the SWOSU Clock Tower and south lawn.
The funds raised through Relay for Life will help honor survivors, remember loved ones and support those who currently are receiving treatment along with their caregivers. There will also be lots of activities for the entire family.
Individuals wanting to form teams can invite organization members, department colleagues, friends or family to join a team and sign up for a team at www.secure.acsevents.org/ site/STR?pg=entry&fr_id=99251. Download the American Cancer Society FUNdraising app to utilize the text and email function to seek out donations or decide on a fundraiser and raise money.
For individuals who cannot make a commitment to participate but want to donate, organizers suggests consideration of purchasing a luminaria bag which will be featured at the event.
