After a preliminary hearing for a man charged with kidnapping, conspiracy, and assault and battery related to his involvement with a case last May, his mother was charged with one felony count of intimidation of a witness after she allegedly yelled at a man in the halls of the Beckham County Courthouse.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 40-year-old Casey Renee Gladden is accused of approaching the witness after the preliminary hearing and accused him of lying while on the witness stand.

Before the event escalated an assistant district attorney intervened and instructed the woman to leave, and asked a detective to investigate the incident. By doing so he had determined that, unprovoked, she had approached the man in an intimidating manner and yelled at him.

She was charged in Beckham County District Court last Thursday with bond set at $50,000. Her first court appearance is scheduled for December 17.

Gladden’s son, Jeorge Gladden, was charged on June 1 after his suspected involvement in the kidnapping and beating of a man in an Elk City hotel last May.
