A warrant has been issued for the arrest of an Elk City woman after receiving a felony charge for stealing a vehicle.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 31-year-old Erika Rafaela Rodriguez is accused of taking a vehicle from the owner’s home back in July, while he was asleep. In an online message exchange with a mutual friend, the defendant claimed that the owner of the vehicle and her were in a relationship, and that she had permission to take the vehicle. The victim would tell police that they were not in a relationship, and she did not have permission to take his car.

Four days later Clinton Police contacted Elk City authorities to let them know that they had arrested Rodriquez for a Custer County warrant. She would allegedly tell Clinton Police that she had no knowledge of the vehicle in question.

Rodriguez received a felony charge of larceny of an automobile on October 28.

The affidavit filed stated that the car, a 2014 blue, four door Nissan is still missing.
