During the latest meeting of the Elk City Commission, Commissioners approved establishing prior approval for City Manager Tom Ivester to purchase water rights without additional consideration from the City Commission not to exceed $500,000.

Ivester says with this item being passed, he’s now allowed to take advantage of water rights opportunities for the city.

Ivester did stress that there are no current auctions at this time that the city plans to participate in.

In other city news, the Commission approved a bid received from OCT Equipment for one new Case Wheel Loader for the Rock Yard for just over $299,400. The purchase was a budgeted item for the city.
