by Paragon Communications Sports Broadcaster Aaron Kauk:
For the second straight week, the Elk City Elks will not be playing a district football game. Friday’s home game with Cache has been canceled and will not be made up in accordance with the rules adopted by the OSSAA board. The next game on the schedule is the home finale Oct. 30th against Clinton.
The OSSAA board will consider allowing all the teams in the state to make the playoffs in a special board meeting tomorrow morning. It would be a one year policy due to the problems Covid has caused all across Oklahoma. Not all schools would be required to play, but they’d all have the choice to participate in the football playoffs this season.
