As the City of Clinton enters into a new fiscal year, they do so without a city manager.

However, the search to replace Mark Skiles, who stepped away from the job last May, is underway according to Mayor David Berrong.

Berrong says the city council is utilizing the Oklahoma Municipal League in their search for a replacement.

Berrong says the OML posted the job late last month and it has already received interest. It is unclear when the city council will make a decision on a hire.

Currently I.T. Director Gene McCullough is serving as interim city manager for the city.

In other Clinton news, it was reported by The Clinton Daily News that Police Chief Paul Rinkel has recovered from Covid-19. The coronavirus had kept the chief off the job for a couple of weeks, but according to the paper he is back on the job and feeling fine.
