Harmon County is now reporting a case of COVID-19.

According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s daily report, the first case of the virus in the county resides in Hollis. With that reported case, that leaves Roger Mills County the lone county in the state to not yet report a case of COVID-19.

Jackson County’s active case count increased to nine, that is up three when compared to Monday. Custer County has five active cases after three more recoveries being reported. Kiowa County now has four active cases, that is up two when compared to Monday. Beckham County remained unchanged with three active cases. Greer County has two and Washita County has one active case.

Health officials say Oklahoma saw an additional 85 active cases added, bringing the total number of active cases in the state to 3,285. There were also two additional deaths reported Tuesday, bringing the total number of dead due to the virus to 387.

Health officials report that there are currently 315 Oklahomans hospitalized due to the virus, however that number is down by 14 when compared to Friday.

Gov. Kevin Stitt publicly encouraged Oklahomans to wear a face mask in public Tuesday during a press conference.

For most people, the virus causes mild or moderate symptoms that clear up within weeks. But for others, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, the highly contagious virus can cause severe symptoms and be fatal.
