A Clinton hospital administrator just got a promotion.

AllianceHealth Clinton recently named Jay Johnson as its Chief Administrative Officer.

The Clinton hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, Landon Hise, also became CEO for AllianceHealth Woodward in July 2019, and shortly afterward Woodward became his base of operations. Needing an on-site administrator to oversee day-to-day operations in Clinton, Johnson, formerly the Custer County hospital’s Chief Financial Officer, became interim CAO.

“Jay is one of the best CFOs in the business, and he has proven himself to be a great operator as well,” said Hise. “In fact, he was interim CEO for five months before my arrival at Clinton and did a great job, so I have all the confidence in the world in Jay as CAO.”

Johnson joined AllianceHealth Clinton as Chief Financial Officer in 2015.

The Florence, Alabama, native earned a B.S. in Accounting/Finance/Management Information Systems from the University of North Alabama and an MBA from Lamar University.

In his time at the Clinton hospital, Johnson has earned the respect of his colleagues. “Jay is committed to the facility, staff and physicians here,” said Chief Nursing Officer Kim Todd. “He is kind, empathetic and supportive.”

The nursing chief also said that Johnson is always professional, yet he knows when to introduce humor to defuse stressful situations. “Above all, Jay always maintains his integrity,” Todd said.

Hise will continue in his role as AllianceHealth Clinton CEO, where he will work closely with Johnson to recruit physicians and oversee hospital strategic planning.

The Clinton and Woodward hospitals have begun sharing services and will expand on that in the near future.
