A Cordell man has been charged with three counts of child sexual abuse, and one count of possessing juvenile pornography after being accused of soliciting sex to minor children in a public park.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 23-year-old Dakota William Rogers is accused of soliciting sex to minor children at Cordell Park and also is accused of showing the minor children pornographic photos on his phone. The report also stated that Rogers allegedly inappropriately made physical contact with a 12-year-old juvenile male.

The affidavit said that while Rogers was being arrested at his home, he made the statement “this is about the stuff on my phone; I know I shouldn’t have it”.

The court document stated that during an interview with police, Rogers allegedly admitted to the solicitation of sex to the minor children at the park, and allegedly told police that he has no age preference to how young or old when it comes to sexual desires. It was during the interview that police discovered child pornography on the defendant’s cell phone. The affidavit also stated that Rogers showed police web sites and chat rooms he was involved in that involves downloading child pornography and chatting with pedophiles.

Rogers is due in Washita County District Court for a preliminary hearing on May 5.
