A Weatherford man was arrested recently after allegedly threatening his grandmother with a knife.

According to a probable cause affidavit 28-yeah-old Caleb Dakota Wheeler was arrested December 26th, after police were dispatched to a home where the reporting party said she was being threatened by a man with a knife. Once officers arrived, they were able to get Wheeler to exit the home peacefully and detained him.

During an interview with the woman in the home, she identified herself to be the suspect’s grandmother. The affidavit stated that Wheeler became upset when he awoke from a nap. She stated that Wheeler allegedly had a knife, and stated that he was going to kill her, and he was going to kill everyone who was against him. The court document stated that’s when the woman, along with her 8-year-old granddaughter, locked themselves in a separate room and contacted police.

Wheeler was arrested and booked into the Weatherford City Jail. He was charged with domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon – a felony.

According to court records, Wheeler has a similar criminal history. He was convicted of domestic assault and battery, also in Custer county, in September of 2018.
