A felony warrant has been issued for a Sayre man after he was charged with a number of felonies.  According to a court document, probable cause exits that 33-year-old Mikey Calahan, a formerly convicted felon was involved in a recent incident that included threatening to kill his girlfriend.

The probable cause affidavit filed Monday, September 11 in Beckham County District Court says that as a part of a different investigation, investigators with the District 2 Drug Task Force learned of an alleged incident through the review of audio taken during a phone call inside the jail. The tip lead to felony charges being leveled against Calahan who is also known as David Michael Calahan and Michael David Calahan.

According to the probable cause, Calahan had an argument with his girlfriend a few days prior to investigators learning about it from the audio taken from the telephone. During the argument – believed to be on Wednesday, September 6 – Calahan accused the woman of lying. He reportedly pulled a .40 caliber handgun off a stack of tote containers and fired a round from the firearm which struck a book case in a bedroom a few feet from where the woman was standing.

He allegedly threatened to kill her before and after he fired the gun.

Moments later, during a phone call the victim had taken on her cell phone but while the Calahan was still present in the room, Calahan allegedly put the gun to the victim’s head and told her not to say anything.

Investigators later found a soft black book case which had a bullet hole in it. A bullet was also found in a disturbed area following the bullet path in the yard after having passed through an exterior wall of the residence located in the 100 block of West Avenue B in Elk City.

He’s charged with domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possessing a firearm after former felony conviction.
