SWOSU’s Department of Business and Computer Science has a new departmental chair.
Dr. Trisha Wald has been named chair of the department in the Everett Dobson School of Business and Technology at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance from SWOSU and a juris doctorate from the University of Oklahoma School of Law.
While at SWOSU, Wald has taught classes in business law, tax law and accounting. In 2014, Wald received the Outstanding Accounting Educator Award from the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition to teaching, she has been active in scholarly activity through research and presentations and additionally serves as a reviewer for the Southern Law Journal and the American Business Law Journal.
Wald is involved in campus activities and committees and is a graduate of Leadership Weatherford Class 14.
Associate Professor Wald has taught at SWOSU since 2008.
The appointment began July 1.
