Western Oklahoma Track Meets Recapped

Regional Track meets were held all across Oklahoma as well.

Class 4A Meet Results

In the Class 4A meet held in Chisolm, the Weatherford Lady Eagles were the team champs with a score of 203.

Clinton was 6th and Elk City 12th.

Elk City Students Qualify for State

Individually Elk City had two state qualifiers.

Remi Murray qualified to place 2nd in the pole vault with a jump of 8 feet 6 inches.

Ameri Atterberry made it also in the 110m hurdles with a 5th place finish in 17.22 seconds.

The Big Elk track team was 4th in the regional meet. Clinton and Weatherford tied for 7th.

State qualifiers for the Elks include 4 relay teams. The 4X100 team was 4th with a time of 44.73. 4X200 team was 2nd with a time of one minute and 31.85 seconds. The 4x400M team was also second running a 3.30.04. The 4X800M team won the regional meet with a time of 8:29.93.

Spring Relay

The 3 spring relay teams consisted of a combination of Cooper Garbarino, Devin Simmons, Rylie Miller, Marino River-Noblitt, and Corrie Jones. Miller was also on the 4×800 team alongside Ethan Banks, Brackston Thompson, and Lane Hargrove. Both Hargrove and Banks qualified individually in the 1600m. Hargrove was 2nd by 2 one-hundredths of a second with a time of 4:38.54. Banks finished 4th and qualified with a time of 4:43.06.

Class 2A Meet Results

In Class 2A Sayre and Merritt both had good weekends.

Sayre Eagle Track Results

Sayre’s girl’s team saw Josie Merrick win the regional meet in the 100M hurdles with a time of 17.03. Bailey Seymour’s headed to state with a 3rd place. Emily Easter will be there after a tie for 4th in the high jump at 4 feet 8 inches.

Sayre’s Eagles had a bunch of success as well. Kolt Merrick is the long jump regional champ, jumping 21 feet. He’s also on the 4X200M relay team that placed 2nd. It was Merrick, the Rich twins Braedyn and Camdyn, Noel Fernandez, and Walker Moeller as the alternate. Fernandez also placed 2nd in the 110M hurdles and 3rd in the 300 hurdles. Clayton Mosburg tied for the best high jump of 6 feet 2 inches. Lucien Z qualified with a jump of 9 feet 6 inches in the pole vault.

Merritt Oiler Track Results

Merritt competed in a different 2A regional and fared well. On the girl’s side, The 4X200M relay team of Breegan Barnett, Chloe Stout, Ella Porter, and Daillee Taylor placed 4th. Taylor won the 400 with Stout 2nd and Elizabeth White 5th. Barnett was the 300M hurdles champ. The same group that was 4th in the 4X200M relay won the 4X400M relay. Breegan was 2nd in the long jump. Ella was 4th. The Oilerettes were 5th as a team.

Merritt’s boys were good as well. The 4X100M relay team came home 2nd. Mos Flowers was 5th in 100. The 4X200M team of Caden Smith, Flowers, Bryce Lagunas, and Caleb Compton were the regional champions. Compton was the 200 champion. Smith placed 8th. Riley Herndon won the 800. The 4x400M relay team of Smith, Herndon, Lagunas, and Compton won regionals. Luke Peffer was 3rd in the high jump. Herndon was 3rd in the pole vault. Zack Carr placed 3rd in the long jump. The Oilerettes ended up 5th while the Oilers were 2nd.
