Elk City Elks Finish 4th at Class 4A State Golf Tournament

The Class 4A State Golf Tournament wrapped up its final round at Prairie West Golf Course in Wford, and the Elk City Elks finished in 4th place with a three-day total of 940. Cascia Hall came from behind and shot 304 to take 3rd place with a total of 930, behind Ok Chr Schools, who shot 879 for the top spot, and Heritage Hall, who finished with 880 in 2nd place.

Ryder Cowan from OCS was crowned individual State Champion after finishing the three days at -10 with rounds of 67-68-68, two shots ahead of Heritage Hall Freshman Ben Lathrop. Elk City’s Mason Schmidt finished with a total of 214, securing 4th place, while Nathan Womack placed 8th with a score of 225. Schmidt and Womack both missed out on qualifying for All State by a few shots, but they would’ve easily qualified for the All State team for the East side of the state.

In other sports news, Rattan won the Class A Baseball state title with an 11-3 victory, while FCB won the Class B Baseball state title 9-4 against Roff. The Elk City Elks will play Oologah in the Class 4A Baseball bracket, which is set to take place at Edmond Memorial on Thursday. The game will be live-streamed on bigelktv.com.
