Elks Run Rule Again, Prepare for Tougher Matchup

The Big Elk Baseball kept rolling yesterday in Class 4A District 4 action at Ackley Park. Elk City run ruled Woodward for the second straight day, this time 17-3 to run their record to 5-0, 4-0 in the district. Things get a whole lot tougher tomorrow afternoon with Tuttle in town. The first pitch between the Tigers and Big Elks is at 5:00 inside Ackley Park.

Elsewhere on the baseball diamond yesterday, Wford hammered Anadarko in district play 16-1, Arnett topped Sweetwater 9-1, Blair beat Tipton 8-5, Canute pounded Geronimo 11-1, Carnegie upended TFC 9-5, Hollis won a pair blanking Duke 10-0 and whipping Erick 13-3, Duke turned around and handled Erick 11-3, Leedey was all over FGFS 11-1, L-S walloped MVG 25-9, Vici flogged Mooreland 17-4,

In slow pitch action, Arnett outslugged Buffalo 14-2, Navajo shutout two teams, 17-0 against Blair and 14-0 over Duke, Blair doubled up Duke 18-9, H-E obliterated Geary 23-6, Mangum got all over Snyder 17-1, Shattuck won a slugfest against Mooreland 18-10, Ringwood got the better of TFC 11-3

On the soccer pitch, The Elk city Elkettes put it on Altus 6-2, Bethany outscored Clinton 3-1, and Woodward shut out El Reno 2-nil. On the boys’ side, Clinton doubled up Bethany 4-2, and Woodward blew past El Reno 5-1.
