A Weatherford woman is wanted in Custer County after being accused of hitting a man with her car on the Weatherford campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the incident took place on October 14 when Weatherford Police along with SWOSU Police were dispatched to a person who had been struck by a vehicle between Neff Hall and Stewart Hall on the south side of the campus.
Upon arrival, authorities would find the victim, a man, standing with blood dripping form his knees, but still walking. Police were able to determine that the man was riding in the car that had hit him, driven by 31-year-old Ruthie Ann Wills. The two, who were in a relationship, had gotten into an argument and the man decided to exit the vehicle. Shortly after exiting the vehicle, Wills allegedly drove over the curb striking the man causing him to land on the car’s hood and windshield and taking off a windshield wiper blade.
The defendant would then drive away from the scene.
An outstanding warrant for the arrest of Wills was issued last week after formal charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, leaving the scene of an injury accident, and failure to give information at the scene of a person injury accident charges were filed in Custer County District Court.
As of press time, Wills has not been arrested.
