After being a victim of a ransomware attack, Lucky Star Casinos in western Oklahoma are slowly re-opening.

According to a post on Lucky Star Casino’s official Facebook page, the facilities at Concho, Clinton, and Watonga have re-opened to the public.

The casino’s other locations, which are ran by the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes, still remain closed at this time. Those locations include the Lucky Star in Hammon.

The incident came to light when casino officials issued a statement late last month that confirmed that the casinos were victims of a ransomware attack, but did not reveal what the hackers were demanding.

Experts say since almost all the games in casinos are now computerized in some way or another, hackers use ransomware in order to hold the casino main frame hostage.

Not always, but sometimes personal information can be compromised as well.

In their statement, Lucky Star says they do not know if personal information was compromised but did say that their insurance company is providing credit monitoring services for 12 months.

It is unclear if the casino gave in to the hackers demands, however officials have said that the FBI has been contacted.
