A Sayre man was arrested and charged recently in Beckham County District Court with one felony count of aggravated possession of child pornography after an investigation revealed the man was allegedly in possession of hundreds of inappropriate videos and photographs of under age children.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 24-year-old Andrew Witten was arrested on August 15 after authorities received multiple cybertips from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force regarding an individual uploading the inappropriate material.

After obtaining a search warrant for a phone identified by the cybertips, authorities were able to determine the owner of the phone as being Witten. They also were able to collect 14.5 GB of data including 879 inappropriate videos and photographs.

During a meeting with the defendant, he would allegedly confess to sending and receiving inappropriate videos and pictures of children, stating that he had been doing so ever since he first received a phone, which was approximately ten years ago.

A court date for Witten is pending.
