The latest sales tax numbers have been released by the Oklahoma Tax Commission and once again the economic recovery continues for western Oklahoma communities.
According to the numbers, that represent sales in the month of October, Elk City is over the $1 million mark again at just over $1,179,000 – a 26% increase when compared to the same time last year.
Clinton was in the green as well with a 16% increase, bringing in over $489,000. Weatherford exceeded the million dollar mark by bringing in over $1,088,000 – a 28% increase.
Other similar sized communities saw a boost too.
Woodward was up by 26% seeing over $1,073,000 collected, and Chickasha was up 25% tallying $1,067,000.
Surprisingly, El Reno was under the $1 million mark at a little over $811,000 collected. Still that was an 18% increase.
Along with official sales tax numbers, the Elk City use and cigarette numbers are expected to be released during the next regular meeting of the Elk City Commission on Wednesday afternoon.
