The Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission announced this week that their proposed five-year Airport Construction Program (ACP) is available for public comment.

The program potentially would see improvement work done at local western Oklahoma airports.

State Director of Aeronautics Grayson Ardies said in a press release that the deadline for submitting comments is April 30, and he’s requesting that those who want to provide comments to do so electronically by contacting Nick Young, Aviation Program Manager, at nyoung@oac.ok.gov. The Commission will consider this ACP during their regularly scheduled May Commission Meeting which is currently set for May 12. Ardies said the information will also be located on the front page of their website at oac.ok.gov.

The five year program would benefit a number of airports in the state including Clinton Regional Airport with a $500,000 apron rehabilitation project. The city would only have to put in $25,000 for the project.

Elk City Regional Airport could see runway lights get rehabilitated among other things. Total cost of that projected is $850,000 with a $42,500 match from the city. Hobart Regional could see a runway rehabilitated at a cost of $300,000 with the city pitching in only $15,000, and Weatherford’s Thomas P. Stafford Airport would see a new terminal building constructed at a cost of $1.5 million, the city fitting $1 million of that bill.
