Motorcycle Hits Deer in Washita County – Woman Hospitalized

A Burns Flat woman was hospitalized Saturday after the motorcycle she was a passenger on collided with a deer in Washita County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the mishap occurred on State Highway 152 at county road 2030, nine miles south of Canute when the 2007 Honda VTX1300 driven by 45-year-old Timothy Burns of Burns Flat hit the deer while traveling westbound. OHP says the passenger, 36-year-old Shatell Burns, was injured in the collision and was transported and admitted into Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City with leg and trunk internal injuries. She was last listed to be in stable condition.

Burns refused treatment at the scene.
