Hammon Man Uninjured in Two Car Accident

A Hammon man was involved in a two vehicle accident in southern Cotton County Thursday afternoon.

Fortunately, he was not injured in the mishap however the driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized.

According to the Oklahoma High Patrol’s collision report, the accident occurred at the intersection of U.S. 70 and S.H. 36 west of the town of Randlett when the 2014 Jeep driven by 78-year-old Lara Asp of Wichita Falls, Texas failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by the 2015 Ford F-150 driven by 57-year-old Lowell Chapman of Hammon.

Asp was transported to a Wichita Falls, Texas hospital where she was admitted in fair condition with head injuries. Chapman was not injured in the mishap.

OHP says both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the wreck.
