Two convicted felons face more jail time after being found to be in possession of a reported stolen vehicle out of Clinton.

After the vehicle was recovered and the two suspects were arrested, guns were found in the vehicle as well.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 33-year-old Elrond Neal Burns and 42-year-old John Leonard Yelloweagle, both from Clinton, were arrested on August 28 in the 1000 block of Nowahy Avenue in Clinton when a detective with the Clinton Police Department observed the two exiting the stolen vehicle.

The vehicle was reported stolen two days earlier by the owner after the woman had let a friend take the vehicle to a store, but it was never returned.

A search of the vehicle would turn up revolver handgun behind the back driver’s side wheel, and another firearm hidden in the floorboard behind the driver’s seat.

The court document said that after a criminal history check, both Burns and Yelloweagle had prior felony convictions and were prohibited from possessing firearms.

Burns was charged with possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction while Yelloweagle was charged with possession of a firearm.
