The restoration project at Elk City’s Carnegie Library continues.

Elk City, City Manager Tom Ivester gave an update on the massive project, saying it’s the first time the building has been restored in nearly 30 years. He said crews are redoing the mortar on the bricks, the window seals, and the floors. He said the City Commission approved a bid to S&S Carpet for just over $46,500 to replace the floors.

Ivester said the project is very similar to the restoration project that took place recently at the Oklahoma State Capitol building in Oklahoma City.
