During the latest Elk City School Board meeting this week, Elk City Superintendent Mike Sparks updated the board on the school district’s current enrollment.

Sparks tells Paragon that when compared to the end of the 2020-2021 school year in May, which was 1,991 students district wide, the current number of enrolled students attending in-person classes has increased.

Sparks said other than the need for one special education teacher, the district is fully staffed and has not been affected by the statewide teacher shortage that other larger school districts are dealing with.
