During the mid month meeting of the Elk City Commission, the city leaders received the latest sales, use, and cigarette tax numbers.
Once again the economic recovery for the City of Elk City appears good with sales tax collections at just over $1,092,000, a 5% boost. City financial adviser Russ Meacham told the commission that since the beginning of the fiscal year – collections for the city have been very good.
Year to date, sales tax collection for the city was up 7%.
Other numbers reported saw use tax collections fall by 11% while cigarette tax saw a 6% increase.
