Funds from the American Rescue Plan Act are finally available for use for the City of Elk City.
The news came during the recent meeting of the Elk City Commission last week, where financial adviser Meredith Meacham Wilson told the Commission that the funds have been deposited, and that there will be more relief funds to come.
Meacham reminded the Commission that the city is only allowed to use the funds on any future water, sewer, or broadband projects.
In other financial news, Commissioners received the latest sales, use, and cigarette tax report for the month of October. Sales tax was up 26% when compared to the same time last year, use tax intake was down 22% while the city’s cigarette tax was down by 19%.
