While construction on the Elk City Activity Center project approaches it’s latter stages, it appears the City Commission is ready to take the next step in the city’s next major CAPP’s project.
During tonight’s (Monday) regular meeting of the Elk City Commission, the city leaders will consider the hiring of Joe D Hall General Contractors as the construction manager for the Elk City Aquatic Center demolition project. The action item the Commission will consider will also include a bid for the demolition portion of the project for a total of $125,650.
The agenda item indicates that Joe D Hall will also conduct the demolition if approved.
In a separate item the Commission will also consider a construction manager contract between the Elk City Industrial Authority and Joe D Hall General Contractors for construction of the Elk City Aquatic Center project.
City Manager Tom Ivester told Paragon Communications back in November that the aquatic center project could begin as soon as this March, unfortunately that means sacrificing the pool this summer.
In other business, the Commission will consider a bid received for a mini train in the amount of $59,250.
Tonight’s meeting in City Hall is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
