The Elk City Fire Department will see upgraded equipment in the future.

Including a new ambulance for the EMS service.

During the latest City Commissioner’s meeting, an approved bid of just under $288,000 for the ambulance was awarded to Wheeled Coach. Fire Chief Kyle Chervenka says grant dollars will help fund the purchase.

The remaining cost for the city was a budgeted item.

Other items approved for the fire department including two thermal imaging cameras for $15,000 and battery operated extrication tools for just over $28,700.

Both of those approved purchases were budgeted items as well.
