A Fay woman was arrested and charged in Custer County last week after allegedly throwing a brick at a moving vehicle.

As a result, a juvenile was injured.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Bonnie Jo Ann Pruitt was arrested on March 22 and charged the next day with assault, battery or assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, throw or drop an object on a motor vehicle, and malicious injury to property over $1,000 for her role in the incident.

The court document stated that Pruitt along with a friend, followed her boyfriend to a business near Thomas. There the defendant allegedly become upset because she said she was told by the boyfriend that he was going to a friend’s house.

Interviews with witnesses at the scene would tell authorities that Pruitt, while upset, struck a female juvenile’s car window, and tried to break the driver’s side mirror before the car left the scene.

However the defendant would follow the car.

When the juvenile stopped to let her passenger drive, Pruitt allegedly would throw a brick through the back window. The report stated that the juvenile ended up bleeding due to the broken glass.

Pruitt allegedly continued to follow the juvenile’s vehicle until it stopped at a Thomas residence, where Pruitt would grab another brick and throw it at the hood of the car – causing more damage.

Pruitt was ultimately arrested and booked into the Custer County Jail.

Bond was set for Pruitt at $20,000.
