The chance to win a seven-day Caribbean cruise awaits Oklahoma Blood Institute, OBI, donors at all upcoming blood drives including one next week in Elk City.

Cruises, Inc. is providing the vacation cruise for two in hope more will make blood donation a priority during the holiday season.

The blood drive on Tuesday will be held in Elk City at the activities building of the First Baptist Church on West Country Club Road from noon to 6 pm.

There will also be a drive the day before, on Monday, in Canute at the Canute Heritage Center, 101 North 9th Street from 12:30 until 5:30pm.

A gift card to help with ground travel expenses to the port of Galveston, Texas will also be provided to the winning donor and each donor is guaranteed to receive a nautical-themed T-shirt as well as free health screenings.

Anyone 16-years old or older is usually able to donate.

Besides the T-shirts, each donor will receive donor rewards points redeemable for items in OBI’s online store.

The supply of blood must constantly be renewed because there is no substitute and donations can be made every 56 days.

OBI is the ninth largest, non-profit blood center in America, providing every drop of blood needed by patients in 158 state medical facilities including hospitals throughout Paragon Communications listening area.
