Latest Sales Tax Shows Elk City Over $1 Million – Again

The latest sales tax numbers are in and once again the numbers look solid for the larger communities in Western Oklahoma.

According to the Oklahoma Tax Commission’s latest numbers, Elk City once again eclipsed the $1 million mark by bringing in just under $1.1 million ($1,097,355.83). That’s a 15% increase when compared to this time last year.

The City of Clinton was also up by bringing in just over $527,000 ($527,736.27) – a 27% increase when compared to 2022.

Bringing in just under $1 million ($998,525.14) was the City of Weatherford, which saw a 2.5% decrease when compared to last year.

Fellow I-40 community, Sayre also saw a dip by bringing in just over $140,000 ($143,384.51), an 18.5% decrease.

By comparison, other city’s of similar size to Elk City, Clinton and Weatherford saw similar sales tax intake.

El Reno brought in just over $1 million ($1,086,671.50), Altus brought in a little over $940,000 ($940,318.50), and Woodward was over the $1 million mark ($1,003,803.30) as well.
