An Elk City man was arrested recently after being found to be in possession of a sawed off shotgun.

The crime merited a felony charge in Beckham County District Court.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 22-year-old Logan Bryce Fletcher was arrested on May 24 when while serving a search warrant at a Sayre home for a separate subject, authorities with the Sayre Police Department and the Beckham County Sheriff’s Department discovered a single shot shotgun with the wood stock cut into a pistol grip, and the barrel appearing to be short.

A short time later Flether was arrested for possession of the shotgun. The court document said that Fletcher admitted the gun was his and that he carries it all the time.

Fletcher was charged in Beckham County Court with one count of possession of a sawed off shotgun or rifle – a felony – on May 26.
